PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Hang on to your hats ladies! We have some fun coming your way!

Let me start by filling everyone in about the our September business meeting.

MPMQ begins 2009 with a new slate of officers. Here is the line-up; Sandy Bernaseck kindly agreed to be co-president with yours truly. Jane Kuehn remains our treasurer. Thank goodness Jane was available to answer our questions. Carla Fielder assumes the responsibilities of secretary. Marcel Miller is editor for the newsletter with Judy Moritz assisting with the mailing. And last but not least, Jen Pielow, will be webmaster for our new website. I hope you learned some new ideas from Diana Phillips ’ presentation in the fall.
I used her Line Dancing designs on a customer’s quilt that had hung for awhile because I was stumped on how to quilt it. Diana's’ Line Dancing did the trick. Check out Sandy’s article in this newsletter for more about Diana’s class.

Okay here’s the first clue to the upcoming fun , not only will our spring meeting be a potluck, but Rebecca Paulus will be presenting her colored trapunto technique. Her quilts are beautiful and if you missed them at the fall meeting you will be able to get a closer look at the spring meeting.

Speaking of the spring meeting, it is scheduled for March 7, 2009. Yes, I know the meeting is scheduled earlier than in previous years, so everyone, please cross fingers, toes, and anything else you can, so it doesn’t snow. I want to thank Jane Kuehn for making the arrangements.

Okay, now for the last clue to the upcoming fun. We have a great teacher lined up for the fall meeting/workshop.

Linda Theilfoldt from The Quilted Goose in Michigan will be teaching. The fall meeting will be held September 26, 2009. Watch the website for more information on Linda’s bio and more information on the meeting. Be sure to mark September 26th on your calendars.

I hope to see you all this spring.
